Direct’s Team can help you find the disability-related information and and resources you need. Reach out to us about our programs, disability rights, other disability-related topics, and/or available community resources.
We help individuals, their families and friends, caregivers, employers, service providers, and other community members obtain needed information, enroll in Direct’s programs, and connect with other resources.
How We Work with You
Direct promotes self-determination and empowerment. We believe people with disabilities are the best experts on their own lives and have the right to make their own life decisions. Therefore, we do not fix problems for you. Instead, we provide information, resources, and tools that can help you solve problems and make decisions yourself. As a team of people with disabilities, we offer support that comes from firsthand knowledge and experience.
We provide:
Information about our programs and services
Education about our Independent Living Philosophy and approach to services
Assistance in accessing services, making decisions for your own life, and advocating for your rights
Connections to other community resources if other organizations can better support you
We do not offer:
Financial assistance
Housing
Case management
Legal advice or representation
Crisis help or services
Transportation
