
Peer Support & Mentoring
Peer Support & Mentoring offers opportunities to work together to share disability-related experiences and learn from each other. Mentoring is individualized, based on participant goals and may include:
Navigating life with a disability
Support to prioritize independence
Acquiring coping skills
Self-advocacy, including making informed choices and taking control of life decisions
Education and/or employment
Building confidence and becoming a role model
Advocacy with systems

Chris shared that he had located an apartment, found a roommate, and moved into his own space using the skills learned during our 1:1 peer support sessions – something he had been wanting to do for a very long time!
