Arizona Disability Advocacy Coalition DAY AT THE CAPITOL

Are you passionate about advocating for the rights and well-being of individuals with disabilities? If so, mark your calendar for a significant event that promises to be both enlightening and empowering. The Arizona Disability Advocacy Coalition (AZDAC), in partnership with Ability360, is excited to invite you to participate in the Capitol Day on February 6, 2024. This event represents a pivotal opportunity for advocates, both new and experienced, to directly engage with lawmakers, observe the legislative process, and play a crucial role in shaping policies affecting the disability community.

An Opportunity to Learn and Lead

Before the big day, all registrants will be allowed to attend a Zoom training session on policy advocacy and briefing. This session is designed to equip you with the knowledge and confidence needed to communicate with legislators effectively. Whether you're a seasoned advocate or new to the arena, this training will enhance your skills and prepare you for a productive experience at the Capitol.

Newcomers Welcome

Understanding that advocacy can be daunting for beginners, AZDAC ensures a supportive environment for all attendees. If you're new to advocacy, you will be paired with an experienced advocate. This mentorship approach guarantees that every participant, regardless of their experience level, can engage meaningfully and confidently during the event.

A Day of Engagement and Networking

Capitol Day is not just about advocacy; it's also a fantastic opportunity to network with other advocates from across the state. Sharing experiences, strategies, and stories is a powerful way to build a cohesive community dedicated to disability rights. Moreover, lunch will be provided, offering a perfect setting for informal discussions and camaraderie.

Be the Change

Your participation in Capitol Day is more than just a day at the legislature; it's a step toward meaningful change. By lending your voice, you help ensure that the policies and laws enacted reflect the needs and rights of individuals with disabilities. Together, let's make a difference and work towards a more inclusive and equitable society.
